Art Walk

230825-Mural-14.jpg

The PromenART Sculpture walk was first launched in 2023 to celebrate creativity, culture and the broader Shell Cove community.

This multi-year initiative has been made possible by Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property Australia and will feature various activities and activations, with the more permanent installation being a Mural Walk which has been created on the Eastern Edge of the marina.

Featuring five murals, with a further six to be installed throughout 2024, the  works are a collection of community collaborations and local artists, including:

  • Shellharbour Youth Services with their special collaboration in celebration of 'Wear it Purple Day'. Shellharbour Youth Services team provide a range of services to young people 12- 24 years of age including school holiday activities and programs, outreach in the afternoons, support in schools and community partnerships. In celebration of 'Wear it Purple' Day, SYS worked on a reflective work that captures and celebrates all the people who make up Shell Cove and the wider community.

  • Is It Me You See: The Marker - With a background in Visual Arts and Interior Design, local talent, Gillian Dinh, combines her love for both creative industries by utilising her hand-lettering skills to enhance spaces through signage and wall mural creations. The Marker’s portfolio includes a variety of works from stationery design, logos and business branding to wall murals, sign-writing and creative workshops.

  • Having a Whale of a Time: The customers of ARUMA, a local service which supports over 5000 people with a disability throughout the east coast of Australia, worked alongside Kao Kreative to deliver a marine inspired work that is bold, bright and captures the beauty of where we live and it's location along the Humpback Highway.

  • Human: Tegan Georgette: Her works explore themes of vulnerability, power and gender roles. Tegan paints powerful portraits in bright rainbow colours of confident figures of no specific gender. The works bring colour, joy and a beautiful message of inclusivity wherever they are painted.

  • This is Shell Cove: A community activated piece that welcomed residents and passerby's to 'capture' their favourite parts of where they live to be exhibited for years to come.

The next round of murals are due to be completed in July 2024 - more information to come.
